How to use DoubleChecks with Claude

Connect DoubleChecks to Claude, check an answer or claim, and review the verdict and supporting sources without leaving the conversation.

By DoubleChecks4 min read

DoubleChecks lets you verify a Claude answer or another claim from inside the conversation. It compares separate assessments from Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity, combines their sources, and returns a clear verdict with the evidence behind it.

Only the answer or claim submitted to the DoubleChecks tool is checked. A completed check uses one DoubleChecks credit and saves the full report to your signed-in account.

  1. 1

    Connect DoubleChecks to Claude

Open Claude's connector settings and search for DoubleChecks. If it is not yet available in your connector directory, choose the option to add a custom connector and enter https://doublechecks.ai/api/mcp as the remote MCP URL.

Claude will open the DoubleChecks sign-in and consent screen. Sign in with the account whose checks and credits you want to use, approve the connection, and then enable DoubleChecks for your conversation.

    • Remote MCP URL: https://doublechecks.ai/api/mcp
    • Authentication: your existing DoubleChecks account
    • Cost: one credit after each successfully completed check
  2. 2

    Ask Claude to double-check something

Ask Claude directly when you want a check. For example: "Double-check your previous answer" or "Use DoubleChecks to verify this claim and show me the strongest sources." For a specific sentence, paste that sentence into your request so the scope is unambiguous.

Claude passes the answer or claim to the DoubleChecks tool. DoubleChecks does not need the rest of the conversation, so keep the submitted text focused on the factual content you want verified.

  3. 3

    Read the verdict and evidence

The result card shows an overall verdict of Accurate, Needs caution or Inaccurate, followed by a concise explanation. Source chips identify the websites used, and the evidence section shows which individual claims are supported, need context, cannot be verified or are contradicted.

Select View full report to inspect the complete findings, source links and each AI assessment. The report remains available in your DoubleChecks account after the conversation ends.

  4. 4

    Use the result responsibly

A DoubleChecks verdict is an evidence review, not professional medical, legal or financial advice. Open the strongest sources yourself before relying on a high-stakes conclusion, and pay attention to dates, definitions and any uncertainty shown in the findings.

  5. 5

    Troubleshoot the connection

If Claude cannot load DoubleChecks, refresh Claude and reconnect the connector. Confirm that you signed in to the intended DoubleChecks account and that it has a check available.

DoubleChecks can read public webpages, but it cannot open private, paywalled or sign-in-only links. Paste the relevant passage instead. If a provider fails temporarily, retry once; if the problem continues, contact DoubleChecks support with a screenshot and a short description.
